We are currently seeking Speaker Submissions for our 2017 Regional Conferences. By supporting our efforts to educate and build community amongst bartenders, you are directly affecting the improvement of our industry and the enjoyment of our services by the guests we serve.
Speaker submissions are being accepted for the following categories:
Holistic Development (Health, Wellness and Personal Development)
You Have to Start Somewhere! Regional conferences offer a chance for you to present to like-minded peers and solicit their feedback. Find out what works and what doesn't. You'll build a foundation that could lead to future opportunities and the ability to request speaker fees and travel expenses on future engagements.
Put Yourself Out There! Submit your proposed session and see what happens. Take advantage of the submission form question that asks if you would like your proposal to be considered for other regions. The more you submit, the better chance your session has in getting picked up!
When designing your presentation, make sure you tailor your presentation to the audience. Please keep in mind that USBG members are professionals that are dedicated to the craft and will be asking detailed questions. Be creative, thorough and informative. Most Regional Conference attendees will be Chapter Officers with a few years of experience behind the bar working with spirits. However, some attendees will be new to the industry. Make sure your material can relate to both.
If your presentation includes a tasting of your brand(s), please don’t present a consumer-oriented marketing presentation. These are bartenders that are going to recommend your products to customers in a detailed manner and in expertly crafted cocktails. We recommend presenting an explanation of the production process (raw material, fermentation, distillation, aging, water, etc.), any pertinent brand information, history, and Q& A.
Speaker submissions are due by November 30, 2016.
If you are interested in submitting your idea to more than one Regional Conference, there is a question on the submission form that will allow your submission to be considered for all regions that you indicate.
The USBG National Education Committee will review all the submissions. Approved submissions will be submitted to the Regional Conference Planning Agenda Committee to determine which seminars they want to include in conference programming. They will contact you by the end of January to let you know if your submission has been accepted and to confirm that you are still available to present over the conference dates.
