Diageo’s Roseisle distillery in Scotland has a bioenergy facility


Diageo is one of only 25 companies to score an A for both the climate and water lists this year, and is the only drinks company to make the list.

According to CDP’s case study, the drinks giant has secured a place on the A list for setting “strong new standards” for its buildings and operations.

Diageo has set up several bioenergy plants operating at distilleries in Scotland and India including the Roseisle distillery in Scotland which includes a bioenergy facility that converts byproducts and wastewater into renewable energy, accounting for 50% of the site’s energy needs. The company’s aim is to reduce emissions by 50% by 2020...
