The weather’s finally nice enough, which means more events! One of the main things worth noting from this past month with the New Orleans chapter is the visit to Seven Three Distilling Company (301 North Claiborne Avenue, New Orleans), which consisted of a tour and tasting of their products alongside 18.21 Bitters and Shrubs from Atlanta.
Founded only two years ago, the beauty of their products lies in the way they chose to honor and celebrate the city of New Orleans, even naming the distillery itself after the 73 neighborhoods that make up the city and each of their products after a specific neighborhood (for example, St. Roch Vodka and Gentilly Gin).
Soon after, the chapter teamed up with Beam Suntory to host a sort of “spa” day. The attendees were treated to haircuts, manicures, headshots and an array of Irish whiskies. The first five non-members to arrive even walked away with memberships thanks to the brand!
Lacy Hawkins also visited New Orleans this month, providing the chapter an in depth discussion on the beauty that is Monkey 47 Gin, everyone walking away with a clear comprehension on the products and the passions, coincidences and dedication responsible for this German product.
Although the wine seminar for the month had to be postponed, it is scheduled for the second week of April and is set to focus on South American wines. Follow us on Instragram: @usbgnola or finds on Facebook: facebook.com/usbgnola/ to stay up to date!
