They're Back

We’re happy to announce that the USBG Points Program is back!

Starting on July 1st, online engagement by members is tracked and points are awarded for various activities completed by a member during their visit.

Through the Online Engagement Program, members can work toward reaching two different levels, where they will be recognized for their contribution to our online community.

RISING STAR:

If a member earns at least 250 points from July 1st – December 31st, they will receive a Rising Star badge on their profile.

Other Rising Star benefits include:

  • Mention in Pre-Shift newsletter
  • Certificate
  • Rising Star Shaker
  • Invitation to join the usbg.org Newsroom community, which comes with special invitations, added content for Newsroom community members only, advance notice of USBG initiatives, collaboration with other Newsroom community members on site content, and the opportunity to become a chapter blogger on your chapter community page.

SUPER USER:

If a member earns 500 points from July 1st – December 31st, they will receive a Super User badge on their profile.

Other Super User benefits include:

  • Mention in Pre-Shift newsletter
  • Certificate
  • Super User pin
  • Member Spotlight on usbg.org and additional feature in Pre-Shift newsletter
  • Invitation to become a Site Level Blogger

In addition to the Badge Levels, members earning at least 15 points during a quarter will be entered into a random drawing. Prizes for the quarterly drawing can include gift certificates, swag items, etc.

While points reset on January 1st of each year, once a member has earned the Rising Star and/or Super User Badge, they will retain the status, as long as they remain active on the site. To remain active, a Rising Star will need to earn 125 points each quarter and a Super User will need to earn 250 points each quarter. Once a member has received Rising Star and/or Super User status for multiple years, they will still receive a Certificate and mention in the Pre-Shift newsletter, along with any special invitations. They will not receive multiple Rising Star Shakers or Super User pins.

How can you start earning points?

  • Start by logging in to usbg.org. (Seriously, you get a point for that!)
  • Update your profile (5 points; one-time only)

I always read our newsletters and my chapter's Facebook updates, but I haven't been very active on the site, although I know I should be. This program has made me more motivated to click around and get to know the place a little better.

Glad for the increased engagement but...

I was curious, where can we keep track of engagement points?

Woohoo!

This is an awesome idea. I'm already reading more than I normally do.

Excellent Idea

Since I joined as a member I was always confused why we have such a large organization but so little activity on our website. I am hoping this brings people in to share their knowledge and resources with the community!

I'm glad y'all like the program!

Thank you for participating and best wishes on reaching the Rising Star and Super User Levels soon!!!

We also hope this will increase the number of members that are consistently on the site and checking out what's happening. This is YOUR site! With over 6400 members with various skills, backgrounds and experience, we should be learning from each other, so please continue to share!

Thank you, Frederic, for answering Janice's question before I could!!!  :)
