2018 Northeastern Regional Conference - Recap

The 2018 Northeastern Regional Conference is currently underway, and attendees are stoked about the sense of community they've received thus far. But don't take our word for it:

David Chevrestt of the Buffalo chapter, joined the USBG nearly a year ago "to help build and grow our chapter."

David shares his NERC #1 Takeaway:

"Community... Knowing there are others in my region who are real people and share my passion for this craft!"

This year's NRC educational seminars covered topics such as: The Giving Spirit, No Italy-No Cocktail and Liquid Legacy. Attendees were also schooled on Musculoskeletal Disorders & Emotional Trauma (aka Check Yo'Self Before You Wreck Yo'Self), Rum Classification, The Craft of the Bar, Brewlab, and the Fine Art of Service Recovery.

An especially impactful seminar, Bystander Intervention Training for Bartenders presented by Melissa Emmal, Senior Trainer at Alteristic, is an innovative workshop offered at several of our conferences this year, which focused on preventing sexual assault through bystander intervention. The workshop equipped conference-goers with the tools to respond when they notice behaviors that could lead to or constitute sexual assault and harassment in their bars. Additionally, they were taught how to engage in behaviors that establish a climate of dignity and respect.

Finally, USBG members and staff bravely took to the stage to tell stories of a past life and lessons learned during the Storytelling Dinner, sponsored by Diageo.

AND! None of this could be possible without our generous sponsors!

Their dedication to adjacent education helps make these events a huge success. We appreciate you immensely!

A virtual toast!

Congratulations to this region's World Class Finalists--stay tuned for the announcement!
