That's a wrap! The 2022 National Leadership Conference Retreat (NLCR) last week in Camp Echo, New York was a hit!

Participating USBG Chapters included: Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Hawaii, Houston, Las Vegas, Greater Detroit, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York, New Orleans, Orange County, Oregon, Palm Beach, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Richmond, Tampa Bay, Tucson.

We asked a few attendees to share their #1 takeaway from the NLCR:

 @Adrian Langford, Tampa Bay Vice President & Board Member

A USBG member for nine years, with 14+ years in hospitality

It's important not to want something for someone more than they want it for themselves and if you find yourself in that situation, most likely it's due to different styles of communication!

I enjoyed learning about the different styles of communication through Jess Pettit's Head, Heart, Action presentation.

@Ariel Neal, Chicago Chapter Member
A USBG member for six years, with 14+ years in hospitality

My number one takeaway from the leadership retreat is actionable engagement. We should use the tools given to support each other and move our members forward.

@Carlos Garcia, USBG Denver Chapter President
A USBG member for five years with 10 years inside our industry

My number one takeaway was the amazing things I learned. Not only from the leadership concept aspect but also from other chapter leaders. Seeing all the amazing things each community is capable of doing and executing.

@Desiree Villarreal, New Orleans Chapter Secretary
A USBG member for eight years, with 25 years in hospitality

My biggest takeaway from the retreat was being "seen." I've never felt so seen, heard and listened to by a group of people with one common goal of teaching leadership skills and accepting all forms of communication between each other. It was beyond a life changing few days with skills I'll use in my professional and personal life for years to come!
