Bar Summit Update

The 2025 USBG Bar Summit is in full swing, and the energy here at The Westin Buckhead Atlanta is unmistakable. From the moment folks started rolling into Atlanta, the vibe was loud and clear: pride, hospitality, and a whole lot of heart. “We are the bar” isn’t just a slogan—it’s the reason we gather, learn, and grow together.

Sunday: Kicking Off in Style

Hospitality professionals from across the country arrived in Atlanta on Sunday, greeted with warm welcomes and buzzing anticipation. After check-in, attendees made their way through the Mission-Aligned Sponsors Showcase and had the opportunity to view the 2025 World Class US Bartender of the Year Competition taking place nearby at the Thompson Hotel. Excitement built throughout the day, leading into the Bar Summit Orientation and an unforgettable Welcome Reception.

Tiffanie Guiding us through the evening with signature style and infectious energy was our emcee, Tiffanie Barriere. A respected voice in the industry and longtime USBG supporter, Tiffanie helped set the tone for a night filled with connection, celebration, and community. We also heard from National Board President Ingrid Rodriguez, and Executive Director Bo Shuff, who set the tone with a few exciting announcements!

The reception marked the reveal of two major updates: the debut of the official USBG Merchandise Swag Shop, made possible through a partnership with Stadium, and a brand-new member benefit—50% off membership in the Independent Restaurant Coalition. Both announcements reflect our ongoing commitment to uniting and elevating the professionals who make this industry thrive.

Later that night, the crowd shifted to Your 3rd Spot for a late-night celebration sponsored by Aviation Gin—capping off a day full of connection, creativity, and momentum.

Monday: Learning, Leading & Leveling Up

Monday’s programming dove deeper into both personal and professional growth. The World Class Competition continued at The Thompson Hotel, and select attendees pursued WSET Level 1 Spirits Certification through Napa Valley Wine Academy.

The morning keynote, “Doubt to Direction: Leading When You’re Unsure,” delivered by Marc A. Pitman and sponsored by Singani 63, offered a powerful reflection on the inner journey of leadership. That spirit of growth Marc Pand leadership carried into the regional roundtables, where leaders from across the country—Nancy Hall (Midwest), Elizabeth Lang (Northeast), Chris Mallon (South), Trish Renehan Vodrazka (Southwest), and Augustina Elizabeth (West)—shared insights and solutions in open dialogue.

As the day progressed, educational tracks split into two tracks to meet attendees where they are in their journeys. Leadership Development sessions focused on “From Like to Leaders – Ladder of Engagement” and “Building Blocks for Chapters: Simple Steps for Long-Term Success” presented by executive Director Bo Shuff.

Meanwhile, those in the Professional Development track explored the artistry and lore of absinthe in a session presented by Theodore Breaux and Darian Everding, sponsored by Hood River Distillers, and later unpacked identity and authenticity in hospitality during “Navigating Code Switching,” a powerful panel discussion featuring Keyatta Mincey Parker, Josh Davis, Tiffanie Barriere, and Nathan Reffell.

The day closed with the Meet the Sponsors Dinner Reception—a moment to connect with exciting brands, raise a taster cup in celebration, and recognize the partners who help make the Summit possible. But the celebration didn’t end there. Late-night events sponsored by Crown Royal at Flo Atlanta and by Sazerac at Ranger Station kept the vibes high and the conversations flowing into the early morning.
