USBG URGES AN EXTENSION TO AFFORDABLE CARE ACT SUBSIDIES
HENDERSON, NV (OCTOBER 23, 2025) - The United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) today called on the US Government to extend the healthcare subsidies under the Affordable Care Act.
“Only 35% of bar and restaurant employers offer employer-based health coverage. The vast majority of Bartenders who are able to find adequate individual medical coverage rely on the ACA marketplace. Subsidies toward ACA individual policies have allowed countless numbers of our members and our community to gain health insurance coverage that would otherwise be out of reach. Losing this safety net would be devastating,” said Bo Shuff, Executive Director of the United States Bartenders’ Guild. “Bartending is a physically demanding profession. We continue to advocate for more employers to extend health benefits to their teams, and we also call for an extension to the ACA subsidies that so many Americans rely on. Elected officials from both sides of the aisle have made statements in support of this needed extension. USBG applauds that support.”
